2026 ROSSLAND WINTER CARNIVAL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The Rossland Winter Carnival Society is excited to announce further details related to the 2026 Rossland Winter Carnival! This year’s Carnival will run January 22nd to 25th, and we will be welcoming some of our favourite Carnival events back to town!

Rossland Public Library Book Sale: Fri. & Sat. 10am – 3:30pm. Cash only.
Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre: Saturday & Sunday all day – 10:00 am to 5:00 pm! Tobogganing, campfire, snowman-building competition, indoor family-friendly crafts and scavenger hunt, hot drinks, maple taffy, and an a-MAZE-ing snow maze! We’ll have toboggans, crazy carpets and snowshoes in all sizes! Maple Taffy at 11:30, 12:30, 2:30 & 3:30pm.
Olaus Look-Alike Contest sponsored by the Rossland Beer Co. Free to enter. Simply have your photo taken on location at 1990F Columbia Ave from Thurs.–Sat., 1:00pm – 9:00pm & Sun. 1:00pm – 8:00pm. Winner of Rossland Beer Co. merchandise will be announced by Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Youth Winter Colouring Contest: (Ages 3–19) Colour, create, and celebrate local art! This year’s colouring page features artwork by young local artist Mena McGill. Kids and teens are invited to colour for fun or enter their masterpiece into our prize draw. Pick up a page at Bombshack or download online. 7:00pm The Winter Carnival Variety Show, featuring the Boomtown Garter Girls, at the RSS auditorium, 2390 Jubilee St. Sponsored by the Rossland NDCU. 7:30pm Bobsled Calcutta Auction: Bid on your favourite sled(s) in a live auction at the Legion, 2081 Washington St. If the sled you “buy” places in the race on Saturday you win cash! Boomtown Garter Girls dance at 8:00pm.

9:00am–Noonish The Sonny Samuelson Bobsled Race down Spokane St. One of Rossland’s most beloved winter traditions, the Sonny Samuelson Bobsled Race brings teams, spectators, and high-energy fun to Spokane Street. Awards are held at 1pm at the Ice Palace. For safety, DOT-approved helmets are required, and all bobsleds must pass brake and steering inspection on or before the Calcutta, held Jan. 22 at the Rossland Legion. Registration 10:30am-11:30am. $30 per person. NO cash. Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre: 10 am to 5 pm Sat & Sun, hot chocolate, hot apple cider, tea, and coffee along with snacks (cookies, cheese & crackers) all day and maple taffy at 11:30, 12:30, 2:30, and 3:30. All the food/drinks are free/by donation. We’d hate for anyone to miss out on maple taffy!
